Of misschien dat altijd aanwezige vleugje Britse ziel, gevormd door een lange muzikale traditie in ‘splendid isolation’? Hoe dan ook: ons komende programma brengt prachtige Engelse klanken. Twee solisten, sopraan en bariton, krijgen ruim baan in ons concert. En in Five Mystical Songs en Welcome the Spring speelt de piano de verbindende rol. De orkestbegeleiding, compleet met enkele niet-alledaagse instrumenten, is weer in de vertrouwde handen van het Dordrechts Kamerorkest. Het concert duurt ruim anderhalf uur, met pauze.
