In this 2-day workshop you will learn the basics of hand-building pottery using the process of slab rolling to create your very own mug. After building and under glazing your piece, we will delve into the design technique called Sgraffito. This is an ancient Italian decorative technique where the surface layer of the piece is scratched or carved to create beautiful designs. All pieces will be glazed with a clear gloss. With ceramicist Megan Galloway. Ages 16+
Day I: Construction of mugs and surface design ideas
Day II: Sgraffito design and under glazing
Finished projects will be ready for pick up 2 weeks after the last class.
