SF Tech After Hours: Connections Without the Pitch
About this Event
SF Tech After Hours: Connections Without the Pitch
Skip the panel. Meet the people.
Some of the best conversations in San Francisco tech don't happen during a presentation.
They happen afterward.
SF Tech After Hours brings together a small mix of professionals, founders, entrepreneurs, builders and emerging talent for an easygoing evening of real conversation in downtown San Francisco.
No presentations.
No long panels.
No pitch competition.
No awkward networking games.
Just a room of people working in and around technology who are open to meeting someone new.
Whether you're building something, exploring your next move, growing your network, looking for collaborators or simply want to meet more people across the Bay Area tech community, this is designed to make starting those conversations easier.
WHO YOU MAY MEET
The room is designed for a cross-section of the Bay Area technology and startup community, including:
Software and product professionals
Designers and marketers
Startup founders and operators
Entrepreneurs and independent builders
Sales and business development professionals
People exploring new roles or projects
Early-career and emerging tech talent
People simply looking to expand their professional circle
You don't need to be fundraising.
You don't need to be hiring.
And you definitely don't need a pitch deck.
Come as you are.
A LITTLE STRUCTURE - NOT A NETWORKING WORKSHOP
We want the evening to feel natural while still making it easier to find relevant people.
At check-in, attendees can optionally choose a small connection tag for their name badge:
BUILDING — working on a company, product or project
GROWING — looking for customers, partnerships or collaborators
EXPLORING — considering new roles, industries or opportunities
CONNECTING — simply here to meet more people in tech
The tags are conversation starters, not assigned networking groups.
There are no forced rotations or mandatory exercises.
OPTIONAL COMMUNITY ASKS
Have something specific you're looking for?
During the evening we'll open a short Community Asks window.
A limited number of attendees can submit a request at check-in, such as:
“Looking for a technical collaborator.”
“Hiring a product designer.”
“Exploring climate tech.”
“Looking to meet people working in AI infrastructure.”
“New to SF and looking to meet other builders.”
We'll select up to 8 short asks, each limited to approximately 30 seconds.
No company pitches.
No fundraising presentations.
No sales speeches.
Just a fast way to help the right people find each other before everyone returns to conversation.
OPTIONAL CONNECTION DIRECTORY
Paid attendees may opt into the post-event Bay Area Tech Connect Directory.
The directory may include:
First name
Role / industry
What you're working on
What you're looking for
LinkedIn profile
Participation is completely optional.
Only information submitted for sharing will appear.
The directory will be sent electronically after the event to eligible participating attendees.
