Calling all future Sewers! WonderWorks is thrilled to offer this 6-week introductory sewing course. Join Master Seamstress, Sylvia Dale as she guides you through each phase of learning to sew. From equipment to stitches to final products! Week 1: Intro to your machine, or any machine. How to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, machine settings and basic terminology.
Project: A Bookmark!
Week 2: Basic Sewing Constructions, expansion of skills that we have learned in the first class.
Project: Simple Tote Bag!
Week 3: Quilting Basics. Learn how to use a rotary cutter and the mat, simple patchwork with quilting, introducing interfacing/zipper.
Project: Zipper Pouch
Week 4: How to read patterns, how to measure and cut the fabric. Project: Pillowcase
Week 5: Jeans Tote Bag with Lining.
Week 6: Quilt Block
After your first class you will get a list with supplies to bring to every class going forward!
Sewing machines will be provided but you can bring your own if you have one.
This class is limited to 6 participants so register now! Adults only please. Participants may be asked to bring in some supplies for their projects.
