An introduction to professional sewing, taught by fashion designer Alina Koztepe

Wow friends & family with a fabulous skirt you've made yourself in your own unique style!

Whether you are new to sewing or know your way round a machine, this 1 day course will teach you everything you need to know about making a skirt. Sewing machines, thread, patterns and calico will be provided - just bring yourself and the fabric you'd like to use.

This course will include a BSL interpreter, and is accessible for all hearing, HoH and d/Deaf participants. For other access needs please get in touch.

What you will learn:

• How to sew on a machine
• How to fit fabric
• How to cut patterns and fabric
• How to sew on zips & buttons
• Option to add trimming & decoration
• Develop your creativity & imagination

What's provided:

• Sewing machines
• Thread
• Patterns
• Paper
• Calico

What to bring:

• Fabric (1.5 - 2.0 metres) NB Recommended medium weight eg Cotton / linen etc.
• Notebook and pen
