Sewing Make-a-thon!

Join us for holiday gift sewing from 10am-3pm!

Sew Social's Make-a-thon is a day dedicated to sewing gifts and decor for our loved ones this holiday season. Whether you're new to sewing or simply want the inspiration and good company, we've got lots of beginner friendly tutorials, scrap fabric to choose from, and a few extra machines! Come on in, sew something new for yourself or a loved one, and grab a bite or coffee (provided).

This yea'rs Sew Social will feature craft stations for keychains and lanyards, make-your-own applique for custom pouches or clothing upcycles, mini quilting projects (laptop cases, mug rugs, etc), and more!

About: At Sew Social, folks can come in with a project they're working on or sort through our container of quick-sew tutorials for what we like to call "instant gratification sewing." From cat toys and hair bows to bowl covers, pouches, dolls, and more, there is something for everyone. All skill levels are welcome.

Supplies: A few sewing machines will be on site for communal use. Scrap fabric, thread, and other notions are also available. If you'd like to stock up on sewing supplies, please visit for fabulous finds!

Location: Derita Design is a maker space located in the University area along a residential road. Simply follow the Sew Social sign along the driveway -- the makerspace is in the back. We have parking for around 10 vehicles, so carpooling is always appreciated.
