4 x 2.5 hour classes over 8 weeks.
Maximum 4 students per class - during this class the shop will be closed to the public.
This class is aimed at people who have never sewn before or who unfamiliar with modern machines and new sewing techniques.
Whether you're only thinking about buying a machine but don't know what you need (rent a machine for the class and see what you like) or whether you've not taken your machine out of the box or haven't sewn in a while. Come along, you will be amazed at what you can do x
Content of this class
• Sewing machine – Learn about basic maintenance, threading, tension cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Sewing kit - learn how to use a Rotary cutter, mat and rulers accurately while while cutting out your patterns for the class.
• Projects - you will learn how to make a 3 small projects during the classes a small pouch with a closure, a boxed zipper pouch and a rail fence cushion, all from a selection of fabrics from the shop. Each project will introduce new sewing techniques and focus on improving accuracy and presentation. The variety will allow you to consider some of the different sewing types open to you as you move forward, such as quilting, bag making or general sewing improvement.
During the course we will explore working with recycled materials and scraps and the pros and cons of online tutorials and how to find them.
• all materials, Refreshments and 8 hours expert tuition are included in the class fee. All classes take place in a fully insured well lit Sewing Studio and the coffee and biscuit choice is ok too 😉
• Bring your own sewing machine or rent one for the class, and all feet and any sewing kit you have or purchase what you need from our well stocked shop.
• Full payment of £100 is required at the time of booking, simply send a message to me to receive a booking link
• Cancellations Policy. No refunds are available however classes can be re-booked if cancelled with at least 7 days notice (50% with 2-6 days notice) With less than 48 hours, classes can only be re-booked if Just Sew Simple is able to re-book the original place.
