About this Event
New to sewing machines or feeling a little unsure around one? This beginner-friendly class is designed to help you feel confident using a sewing machine from start to finish.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of machine sewing, including how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, adjust tension, select stitches, and sew safely. We’ll also cover common troubleshooting tips so you can avoid frustration and keep sewing smoothly.

- Parts of a sewing machine and what they do
- Threading the machine and bobbin
- Stitch selection and basic settings
- Sewing straight seams and simple practice stitches
- A section by section demo for the class to follow to create a tote bag
Perfect for absolute beginners or anyone who’s inherited a machine and never quite learned how to use it. No prior experience required!

Recommended for ages 10+, with anyone age 10-13 welcome with an accompanying adult to supervise 1-on-1 for the duration of the class.
