Pants and skirts are staples in every wardrobe and can actually be quite easy to sew. Let Pattie Otto show you how. Whether you choose knit or woven fabric, the choice is yours.
Class begins with try-ons to aid you in selecting the correct size. Pattie’s fitting advice and pattern alterations will help you achieve a great fit. Pattie will then help with construction, including pockets, hemming, and elastic
waistband techniques.
Pant choices include Maui Pants, a full leg pant or capri designed for lightweight fabrics such as cottons, batiks, rayon challis, etc. OR the Long Island Pant ,which is a slim leg pant for light to mid-weight stable knits such
as Ponte de Roma, Leggaro, cotton jersey.
Skirt choices are the Sedona Skirt, a classic skirt with a flaired hem, or the Baja Skirt, a fun tiered skirt that sews quickly when gathered on the serger.
Two options that don’t require try-ons are the Monterey Skirt, a slim pencil skirt from doubleknit, and the Delray Skirt, a bias skirt that skims the body. They will be fitted from your measurements.
All patterns have pull-on elastic waists.
