The Seventeenth Tristate Winter Piano Pedagogy Conference on the campus of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Greaves Concert Hall January 31-February 1, 2025.A Pre-Conference recital will feature a solo piano recital by Dr. Brianna Matzke, performing "Tremor," a concert of new piano works commissioned by Brianna Matzke in response to her essential tremor diagnosis, on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 7:00 PM
The Conference will convene on Saturday, February 1, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, focusing on Performance Anxiety, and Wellness issues. Barry Green, author of Inner Game of Music, present a lecture demonstration about overcoming the mental obstacles to performance, practicing and teaching through the master techniques of Awareness, Commitment and Trust. The afternoon sessions will feature rotating sessions discussing exercises for relaxation, posture and reading issues with dyslexia.
This conference would not occur without the generosity of the Northern Kentucky University Music Program, Northern Kentucky Music Teachers Association, Ohio Music Teachers Association- Southwest District.
