The Silent and/or Ignatian individually directed retreat offers a deeply personal journey, inviting individuals to reflect on how God is present and active in their lives.
Each retreat unfolds uniquely, guided by daily one-on-one meetings with a spiritual director.
The individual sessions provide an opportunity for each retreatant to explore God’s movement through prayer, life experiences, and relationships, while also discerning one’s response to deepen the call of God one discerns at this time in one’s life journey. Spiritual directors may suggest prayer practices, Scripture passages, or readings to enrich this time of reflection and discernment.
Beyond these daily meetings and an opening session, retreatants are free to embrace solitude, peace, and contemplation within the Retreat Center and the serene surroundings of Nazareth.
Mass is available throughout the week, except for Friday and Saturday.
A Note From the Facilitator, Sister Chris Beckett, SCN:
It has been, and remains, a special ministry to walk with women, men, teens, religious, ordained and lay persons of diverse faith traditions and cultures as a spiritual companion/director over the last 45 plus years.
I hold a MA degree from St. Louis University School of Divinity and Theology in 1976 and was certified as a spiritual director and retreat director in 1980. Since that time, I have had the privilege of, as stated above, companioning individuals on a one-on-one or group spiritual direction and as a retreat director. I am also a certified director for the 30-day Ignatian Exercises as well as the Ignatian 19th Annotation Retreat.
We are, I believe, called at this time to walk with each other tenderly allowing our God to move us into the deeper meaning of love, community with each other and all creation. This walking together will, I believe, lead to the personal and communal sense of peace that our world now seeks and needs.
I have, after several years ministering in Maryland, returned to Louisville and am, once again, available for one-on-one spiritual or group spiritual direction as well retreat direction.
