January 10,11,12th 2025Twin Buttes Reservoir
Join us for a day of offroad fun overlooking the shores of Twin Buttes Reservoir. Twin Buttes recreation area has hundreds of trails and tracks perfect for some fun. It's about 3000 acres with rocky, sandy, muddy, trails. The trails are mixed through with prickly pear cactus and mesquite trees.
We are heading up to San Angelo on January 10th to check into our hotels, etc. and we will be staying in San Angelo, there are quite a few airbnb's as well as hotels. If you need help finding something let one of the GCBA leaders know and we can help.
On January 11th we will meet up at Walmart at 10:00am. Show up fueled and ready to go please. We will be heading out at 10:15am. Starbucks and a few gas stations are right there by Walmart as well. Make sure to bring snacks, water (or beverages of choice), as well as a lunch. We will be on the trails and adventuring most of the day. Around 4:00pm we will take a break and have dinner at 5:00 at the Cork & Pig Tavern. We will see who's is up for night rides at dinner. 😁🤙❤️
For this adventure you will need a couple things:
To fish, hike, camp, or picnic in this area, persons 17 years and older will need a Limited Public Use permit ($12/year, can purchase online or at a local store)... (This means the drivers of the vehicle will need one each if you are switching drivers).
An OHV permit also required ($16 online).
