About this Event

Setting the Leadership Standard: Work Culture as a Managed Asset is a full-day leadership event designed to engage leaders across Saskatchewan in practical, solutions-focused conversations about workplace culture, accountability, and prevention.

Featuring a leadership training for male leaders led by internationally respected educator and author Jackson Katz, alongside a keynote from visionary leader and trailblazer Cadmus Delorme. This event equips leaders with the tools, language, and confidence to shape workplace culture, align policies with organizational values, and set clear expectations for respectful and accountable behaviour.

Jackson Katz, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized educator and thought leader on gender equality and violence prevention. A pioneer in engaging men, he co-founded Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) and helped advance the widely used bystander approach. Through MVP Strategies, he has trained organizations globally, including major corporations and institutions. He is the author of The Macho Paradox and a widely viewed TEDx speaker on men’s leadership in preventing violence. Jackson works with a diverse range of high-profile organizations, including the BC Lions Football Club, Dunkin’ Brands, Hewlett-Packard Corporation, La-Z-Boy Corporation, The Seattle Mariners, and The World Bank.

Cadmus Delorme is a Cree and Saulteaux leader and former Chief of Cowessess First Nation, known for advancing economic reconciliation and cultural unity. As the first Indigenous Chair of the University of Regina Board of Governors and founder of OneHoop Advisory Services, he brings strong leadership across community and institutional spaces. His work continues to support reconciliation efforts and community development across Canada.

The event will begin with opening remarks from the Honourable Ken Cheveldayoff, Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, underscoring the province’s commitment to safe, respectful, and accountable workplaces and the role of leadership in driving cultural change.

About Jackson Katz:

Jackson Katz, Ph.D., is an educator, author, lecturer, and social theorist who is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender, race and violence. He has long been a major figure and thought leader in the growing global movement of men working to promote gender equality and prevent gender violence.

He is co-founder of Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP), one of the longest-running and most widely influential gender violence prevention programs in North America, and the first major program of its kind in the sports culture and the military. MVP introduced the “bystander” approach to the sexual assault and relationship abuse fields; Katz is a key architect of this now broadly popular strategy.

Since 1997 he has run MVP Strategies, a mixed-gender, multiracial education and training organization that provides sexual harassment and gender violence prevention/leadership training to institutions in the public and private sectors in U.S. and around the world.

He is the author of two critically acclaimed books, The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How all Men Can Help, and Man Enough? Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and the Politics of Presidential Masculinity.

He is creator, lead writer, and narrator of the award-winning Tough Guise videos. His gender violence prevention work is featured in the 2018 film The Bystander Moment: Transforming Rape Culture at its Roots. He is the creator of the 2020 film The Man Card: White Male Identity Politics from Nixon to Trump.

Katz lectures and trains widely in the U.S. and around the world on the imperative of men’s leadership in the promotion of gender equity and the prevention of gender violence, and the many intersections in this work among gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity and religion.

His TEDx talk, Violence Against Women: It’s a Men’s Issue, is available with sub-titles in 27 languages and has a total of more than 5 million views.

About Cadmus Delorme:

Cadmus Delorme, a Cree and Saulteaux, is a visionary leader and trailblazer. As the first Indigenous Chair of the University of Regina Board of Governors and former Chief of Cowessess First Nation, Delorme blends traditional values with modern strategies to drive economic reconciliation and cultural unity. In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Delorme is the founder of OneHoop Advisory Services where he contributes significantly to community development, economic growth, and reconciliation initiatives.

His extensive community involvement includes volunteer work with organizations such as the RCMP Heritage Centre and Eden Care Communities, as well as guiding Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action #57 Professional Development throughout Canada.

In 2012, Chief Delorme received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, recognizing his student leadership and the hospitality he showed to Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, then Duchess of Cornwall, when they visited FNUniv. He was also named one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40, which celebrates the province’s new generation of leaders, builders and change makers under the age of 40.
