About this Event
SETsquared Workshop: Pitching with confidence, comfort and enthusiasm
This two-hour workshop is designed to complement the Elevator Pitch workshop on how to structure the content of your pitch. It will help build your understanding of how to harness your nerves, and deliver at your best.
Pitching is a key skill of a successful entrepreneur. With your pitch you can catch attention, engage customers, and – if you want to – raise funding.
Research shows that the strongest predictors of which entrepreneurs secure the most investment are not the quality of idea, or strongest track record (both of which are critical, of course), but rather those who pitched with the most confidence, comfort, and enthusiasm.
Workshop leader, Amy Armstrong will support you on your journey to build your confidence, comfort and enthusiasm, and share with you evidence-based strategies proven to help overcome key challenges which may be standing in your way.
Aim
To enhance your pitching competence, confidence and comfort.
Participants
People who are new to pitching, and/or those who want to reflect on and improve their delivery and management of presenting nerves.
Learning objectives
By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
• List the 6 Ps of compelling pitching performance;
• Understand and describe the link between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours;
• Practice how to use their body to calm their mind and harness any nerves;
• Develop new thinking habits to help them prepare their mind prior to pitch delivery.
Amy is an award-winning business and wellbeing coach, clinical hypnotherapist, and Associate at Cardiff University Business School. She draws on nearly 22 years of working in the Ed-tech sector and over a decade of experience as a director of fast-growing business and all that entails. Amy is co-host of The MindStyling Podcast for Entrepreneurs with Dr Becky Sage, which can be found on i-tunes, Spotify and all key podcast platforms.
