About this Event

We welcome you to Grow Wilder, our inspiring food growing and wildlife gardening hub, to join our wonderful practical volunteering sessions!

Your induction session will be focussed on introducing you and other new volunteers to Grow Wilder, with a site tour, tool handling and best practice, site operations and the wider volunteer role.

What you need to bring:

Gardening Gloves
Appropriate clothing for weather & outdoors land management tasks. Please ensure you have a sturdy pair of shoes on!
A packed lunch

Structure:

Arrive 9:30am
11am tea break
12:30pm lunch (there is a communal kitchen with microwaves, toasters, fridge, communal milk)
3pm/4pm finish

Once you have completed this induction day you are free to join our regular volunteer community:

Land management & Food growing. Ongoing tasks are varied and may include: propagation, planting out, composting, pruning/cutting back and management of a variety of wildlife habitats across the site including pond areas, living seed banks etc.

Wildflower Nursery. Our most successful commercial enterprise, raising wildflowers for sale on site and online orders. Ongoing tasks include propagation, pricking out, seed saving and order assembly

Covid-19 Health & Safety

We will meet all Government advice and best practice guidelines relating to Covid-19. In the instance that Government restrictions prevent the course from going ahead, every possible effort will be made to transfer you onto a different course in the future. In the instance that a participant has to isolate at short notice due to COVID-19 we will make every possible effort to accommodate you on a case by case basis.
