Sessions Showcase with musical act Public House Friday January 2nd, 8-9pm. Doors open. 7pm, Free Admission. Be part of the studio audience as record a live off the floor video shoot. Public House is a musical community that formed in 2018 when friends James, Mike and Heather got together to play their folk-rock favourites—songs as meaningful and enduringly powerful as their long-time friendship. Taking inspiration from the Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter scene of the 1960s and ’70s, they blended Heather’s vocals, Mike’s percussions and James’ acoustic guitar and bass into their own distinct sound. They quickly realized they had something worth sharing. A band and an idea were born.
The idea was for the band to be a musical version of a public house, the beloved neighbourhood pubs so common in the U.K. Their door was open for musicians who shared this vision of a folk rock community. It wasn’t long before Chris joined the group, bringing keyboard soundscapes and adding vibrant new dimensions to the sound.
