Sessions Open Mic welcomes all spoken word artists, singers, musicians, comedians to our April in-person mic. Come show us your talent! If you have questions or want to let us know ahead of time that you'd like to join the list, contact Adrian at 662.231.2822 or adrian1914 [at] hotmail.com. You can also just show up on Friday night and sign the list. Admission discount for performers. Admission is $10 when we have a featured guest, $7 when it's just us. We'll let you know once we know. For April, it's a $7 month. Doors open at 6:30pm. And the Mic starts at 7pm.
And now that we've started construction on the Black Box renovation, we will be calling the stage in the Concert Hall home for a little while. This month we are also moving up our start time to accommodate our special guest poets from Lawndale Elementary School and a special celebration at Link Centre that will be running from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Margaret Anne Murphey Lobby just outside the Concert Hall. We will be entering from the east side of the building through the glass foyer. Look for the signs. Or call us at 662.690.4011, ext 1 if you need a little extra help finding us!!
Open mic. Open thoughts. Open minds. Remember the mic is for sharing truths: it is usually an adult space with adult themes. Except that this month, we're going to keep it kid-friendly until the first break out of respect for our young guests.
