About this Event
A fantastic starter course focuses on raising awareness, build confidence in supporting mental wellbeing through everyday conversations and learning some strategies.
Please only register to attend if you fall under this criterion.
These sessions are available for frontline staff or volunteers working in Oldham's Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector.
In this session you’ll learn about two mental health models which incorporate the 5 ways to mental wellbeing and more.
Module 1 - Brief mental health and wellbeing advice
Aims to raise awareness of how you can support mental health and wellbeing within your everyday practice. The intended outcome of session1 is to change the way we have mental wellbeing conversations so that we are confident and skilled to have brief conversations in which we help a person think about ways they can take action to improve their mental wellbeing.
The purpose of this session is to:
-Extend participants skills and confidence to have mental wellbeing conversations within everyday practice
-learn about two mental health models which incorporate the 5 ways to mental wellbeing and these tools can be used to frame mental wellbeing conversations
-Locate mental wellbeing services and resources in your area
This session is practical and interactive, involving a PowerPoint presentation, large group discussion, small group work and exercises in pairs. It would be valuable for frontline staff working in a customer supporting role as well as line managers and leadership teams.
