Join us Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 for a full day of exploration, dog training, and making new friends.Try new cuisines, make new friends, trade those service dog trading cards, and so much more! A surprise bag will be in store for the first teams to arrive.
This vacation style meet-up is meant to bring together the service dog community through fun, training experiences, and detailed discussions while giving a healthy break from the home life.
Individuals are required to cover all costs at this time. If enough interest is gauged, we will collect for group ticket costs of the events planned. If you would like to room share a hotel with other handlers, post within the Service Dogs Take On... group for the most feedback. Be sure to follow the event and group for the most up to date information!
PLEASE NOTE: While Illinois is a state that gives service animals in training the same access rights as a fully trained service animals with their trainer, this will not be an appropriate meet-up for animals fresh into their training, young puppies, or young miniature horses. This is an advanced level meet-up due to the crowds, weather, long days, and so much more.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED to attend or you will not be gaurenteed access to the meet-up. Please email [email protected] to pre-register.
A service animal is a dog or miniature horse task trained to help an individual mitigate their disability. Emotional support animals and therapy animals are not service animals, and are not granted public access rights. There is no certifications or IDs recognized in the United States for service animals. Teams utilizing certifications or IDs will be asked to leave the meet-up.
