In Accumulation, the assemblage, association, manipulation, contemplation and recycling of stuff and waste stirs the creative and artists consciousness becoming our realities to an earthly crisis.

Accumulation is a transcontinental performance project by Co.ERASGA Dance in collaboration with the participating artists from New York and France. This timely, creative project aims to fuse the hybridity of multiple disciplines towards performance perspective and experience. Body, dance, movements, sound, costume, sculpture and visual objects in the making and experiencing for the stage.

The piece seeks to question our human relational, place and time on environmental concerns faced by an alarming future never before for our natural world.

The project sets human-made objects, debris and nature’s remnants as our surroundings, an encounter of our human consumptions and excess. The deterioration of the natural world is set centre stage, a landscape for a hunting, moving dance and sculptural choreography.

Accumulation responds to and challenges the creative venture towards art and environmental stewardship. Can we raise and push creative minds, resources, practices and concerns to attune our creativity to an alarming and devastating fragile ecologies?

Alvin Erasga Tolentino is one of the most active Asian/Canadian dance artists contributing 3 decades to the dance milieu and internationally as a choreographer and dancer. He is the founding and artistic director of Vancouver based Co.ERASGA. Exploring issues of gender, identity, hybridity, cultural re-dress and cross-cultural collaborations, Tolentino's choreographic works in SOLA, BATO/stone, MINORI, VOLT, FIELD, SHE SAID, OrienTik/Portrait, BODYGlass, PARADIS/PARADISE, ADAMEVE, SHADOW MACHINE, Expose, Shifting Geography, Colonial, Unwrapping Culture and Collected Traces and Still Here, as well with his award-winning explorations of dance on film, have made him an ambassador for dance in Canada reaching 4 continents in the last 2 decades.

Accumulation est un projet de performance transcontinentale de Co.ERASGA Dance en collaboration avec des artistes venant de New York et de France. Ce projet créatif et opportun fusionne l’hybridité de plusieurs disciplines dans une perspective de performance et d’expérience. Le corps, la danse, les mouvements, le son, les costumes, la sculpture et les objets visuels créent la scène et l’habitent complètement.

L’œuvre interroge la teneur de nos relations humaines, ainsi que le lieu et le temps dans le contexte de préoccupations environnementales pour un monde naturel qui doit affronter un avenir plus que jamais alarmant.

Le décor est composé d’objets fabriqués par l'humanité, de débris et de restes naturels, à la croisée de la consommation et des excès. Au centre de la scène, la détérioration du monde naturel façonne un paysage conçu pour une danse et une chorégraphie sculpturales qui nous émeuvent et nous hantent.

Accumulation réagit au défi de la création artistique mise au service de la gestion de l’environnement. Est-il possible d’éveiller et stimuler les esprits créatifs pour que leurs ressources, pratiques et préoccupations soient à l’écoute d’une écologie fragile, vulnérable et dévastée ?

Alvin Erasga Tolentino est un artiste de danse canado-asiatique parmi les plus actifs. Depuis trois décennies, il contribue à la vitalité du milieu de la danse à l’échelle internationale en tant que chorégraphe et danseur. Il est le fondateur et directeur artistique de Co.ERASGA, compagnie de Vancouver.

Dans ses chorégraphies, Tolentino explore des questions de genre, d’identité, d’hybridité, de réadaptation culturelle et de collaborations interculturelles comme on peut en témoigner dans SOLA, BATO/stone, MINORI, VOLT, FIELD, SHE SAID, OrienTik/Portrait, BODYGlass, PARADIS/PARADISE, ADAMEVE, SHADOW MACHINE, Expose, Shifting Geography, Colonial, Unwrapping Culture and Collected Traces et Still Here. Ses œuvres primées de danse sur film ont fait de lui un ambassadeur de cette forme d’art au Canada.
