The BMDCW is planning a Berner walk and lunch on Sandy Hook, NJ for 9/27/25. Entry to the park is free and dogs must be on a 6 ft leash or shorter. We will meet in Lot C around 10:45am and start our walk around 11am. We plan to walk toward Lot A and then back covering an estimated distance of 1 mile. We can walk on the beach and/or the multi-use pathway. Afterwards we will head to the dog-friendly Mule Barn Tavern at the end of the island for an outdoor lunch. The historic Sandy Hook lighthouse and additional paths and beaches are near the restaurant and can be explored after lunch. We are hoping for clear weather with Berner-friendly temperatures. If it is too hot or if rain is forecast we will reschedule to Sunday 9/28 or possibly a date in October.
