CRONE RITE OF PASSAGE CEREMONYSeptember 7th, 2025
Fall Equinox. The Crone Rite of Passage Ceremony is a sacred opportunity to honor the Grandmothers amongst us who are 13 moons (months) past their last menses. It is an empowering Lodge for all of us as it celebrates the next cycle in our elders experience and encourages the youth among us to age with grace and power. If you have not been so honored previously and you would like to stand in the center of the circle and be so blessed, you are most welcome. It is a joyful experience for us all. Please invite your daughters, nieces, sisters, cousins and family friends who would delight in such an honoring. Crones of all ages welcome! RSVP to participate in the Ceremony REQUIRED. Dear Madison-Area Women: Sisters, Aunties, Mothers, Daughters, Grandmothers, Neighbors and Friends,
The Ancient Mother Moonlodge is excited to offer its 22nd year of Ceremony, Rite of Passage and Good Medicine!
We gather on the 1st Sunday of each month (with a few exceptions for holidays) and the theme of each ceremony will align with the moon cycle, seasonal shift, and astrological event at that point of the year.
A feast follows the quarterly Rite of Passage Ceremonies, and tea with treats follows all others. We love this social family time to relax, share, process and support each other in the cozy, amplified, post ceremonial sacred space.
Where:
Location is in Monona, WI close to the waters of Lake Monona. We hold ceremony in a comfortable-gorgeous-cedarwood yurt, equipped with a lovely wood-burning stove to keep us nice and warm. Further details will be given upon commitment to participating, as to protect the privacy of our Medicine Keeper, who keeps care of the space.
What to expect:
The Ancient Mother MoonLodge is a place of celebration. It is a place of retreat, of relaxation and of nurturing. It is an opportunity to honor all that is good and natural. The Moon Lodge is a place we find security, wisdom, inspiration, teachings and peace. It is a place we support one another and set a powerful example of beauty for the young girls and maidens amongst us. The Ancient Mother MoonLodge offers the opportunity to remember and share, once again, in the ancient ways of our Grandmothers and honor the next 7 Generations with wisdom, love, responsibility and awakened consciousness.
How:
Ceremonies are held in alignment with the ancient traditional women's teachings of the moon lodge, traditional Lakota teachings from the Great Plains, as well as traditional Inca teachings from the Andes of Peru. Keepers/facilitators are carefully trained in the ancient art of holding ceremonial space. Respect for intergenerational, intra-cultural and non-denominational wisdom is of utmost importance. Integrity, honor and confidentiality is required. We weave sacred traditions to lift up ceremony for the blessing of all. Women of all religions, languages, ages and backgrounds are welcome to attend MoonLodge.

Registration fees are used to cover costs associated with MoonLodge such as items needed for ceremony, art supplies, medicine, printed materials, toiletries/cleaning supplies, food, tea, yurt maintenance and upkeep, etc.
