Learn how City of Darwin is protecting and enhancing biodiversity at East Point through implementing its East Point Reserve Biodiversity Management Plan 2024-2029. The presentation will include:
Key findings from more than 12 years of regular flora, fauna, and W**d surveys used to develop the plan
The history of monsoon forest revegetation at East Point and future revegetation plans
Current initiatives to help protect and enhance threatened species at East Point
W**d, cane toad and other feral animal control
Working with leaseholders and other East Point stakeholders.
Emma joined City of Darwin as Coordinator Environment and Climate Change in 2022. In this role, Emma assists with planning and management of City of Darwin’s biodiversity assets including East Point and Rapid Creek, along with City of Darwin’s other environment and climate change programs. Prior to City of Darwin, Emma enjoyed 12 years at EcOz environmental consultants, specialising in water quality, Before that, she was a geologist at Geoscience Australia, loving the wonder of rocks, but not the cold of Canberra!
