Soon days will be shorter and the leaves will be changing. Welcome the fall season by joining us for September’s Jentel Presents. Our new cohort of residents come from all over the country to experience the beauty of Wyoming. Jentel Presents allows these artists to share their visual artworks and writings with our Sheridan community. This community outreach program featuring visual presentations and readings by the residents at the Jentel Artist Residency Program will take place on Tuesday September 24 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library Inner Circle in Sheridan. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your lunch and enjoy this presentation. Jentel Presents is open to all who wish to join.
This month’s presenters include Agnes Dussault Blaine MN; A poet; Agnes volunteers & works in areas of death restorative justice art & writing. They believe making art is one of the keys to transforming pain. Jen Dwyer; A painter and sculptor; Outside of art Jen loves running traveling yoga and spending time with her pup friends and partner. Karen Combs; A mixed media artist; Karen makes paintings on paper. Karen was raised in a college town in Indiana - later times in Boston Provincetown California and New York. She prefers the scenic route. Erika Jaeggli Dallas TX; An interdisciplinary artist; Ever since growing up on Caves Road Erika has been interested in life under and inside the earth. Zhiwan Chueng Milwaukee WI; A videographer and sculptor; Zhiwan first performed as a book reviewer for the 1990s TV show Reading Rainbow. Since then he has continued to tell stories through his art.
The Jentel Foundation offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development. While at Jentel visual artists and writers have the opportunity to experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection and meditation on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land.
The Jentel Artist Residency Program accepts applications twice a year from visual artists in all media and writers in all genres for a three-week residency. A residency includes comfortable accommodation; common living dining and recreation areas; a private workspace and a stipend to help defray expenses during the program.
