We’re back again for the September Grand Final long weekend. After the success last year up at Boydtown we’re looking forward to doing it all over again a little closer to home. After searching far and wide for a caravan park that is willing to handle a group of our size (apparently most don’t like group bookings on long weekends) we’ve settled on Seaspray on the 90 Mile Beach.We’ve put together a bit of an itinerary that you’re all more than welcome to join, kick back at camp or explore on your own. Obviously this is subject to more brilliant ideas, and any obstacles that occur between now and September.
Thursday night - Arrive and set up, come join us for a welcome drink and a night by the fire, this will be a pretty relaxed night as most of us will be travelling up after work.
Friday morning - I don’t know about you but when we’re camping we want a fancy breakfast so who ever is the best cook we’re all coming to your camp! No, relax and enjoy a sleep in have a nice brekky or get up early and go for a wander over to the beach and see if you can spot someone catching fish or look out for whales or dolphins it’s quite common to see them offshore this time of year.
Now we know it’s going to be hard to beat whale watching like we did last year that was an amazing experience and one we’ll likely do again in a couple years time! So Friday during the day we’re not even going to try we want you to kick back and relax and save your energy for Friday night.
Friday night - we’re going out on the town, well not really we’re heading out for tea at the local
Surf Life Saving Club about 100m from the park then we’re going to the Seaspray Hall which is next door to the caravan park for a Grand Final Eve dance from 7:30pm till 11:30pm, at this stage this will just be a DJ night but you never know we might surprise you with something special. This dance will be open to everyone not just those camping with us so we’re hoping to make it a big night which will help us do a bit of fundraising for Gippy Rocks 2026.
Saturday - once again enjoy a sleep in and cruisy brekky or take a fishing rod and head over and try your luck catching that elusive huge one. Saturday afternoon is all about the Grand Final, we’ll find a way to watch the footy for all those that want to watch the game. (We might have a plan or two for that) Please bring something along to share we’re thinking platters and nibbles. We’ll also have a few games to play and Tash’s Sweep is back for another run. You’re all then welcome to join us for a BBQ (BYO Meat and we might see if we can all contribute to some salads TBC), kick back and see where the night takes us.
Sunday - Last year we did brekky on the Saturday morning, this year we’ll try and do something similar but on the Sunday morning instead before everyone packs up and heads home, more details to come once we’ve decided exactly what we’re doing. Then we can start planning another trip away because we’ve had so much fun on this one!!

There are powered sites for those with caravans as well as limited cabins available and quite a few Air BnB’s and Holiday houses around the town that offer good accommodation for people to share.
Dates: 25-28th September
What you need to bring: Bring all your food, drinks and positive energy! Sale is about a 20 minute drive for any extra supplies you might need.
When you book your accommodation tell them your with the Rock ‘n’ Roll group (we aren’t saying Gippy Rocks this time as the last caravan park thought we painted rocks 😳) as an extra reference we are trying to occupy the area around the Camp Kitchen so try and get as near to site 28 as you can so we all stay relatively close together!
