Dentistry deals with no other disease that extracts a greater price in morbidity and mortality than oral cancer. Practicing clinicians have an ethical, professional and medicolegal responsibility to be knowledgeable about this disease.

• Gain knowledge of the epidemiologic and demographic features of patients
• Become familiar with the etiology including HPV and the biologic principles of cancer
• Identify the clinical features of oral cancer and precancerous lesions
