Join DMI for September First Friday as Downtown Middletown hosts its 3rd Annual Mrs. Roper Romp on September 4th! Get ready to channel your inner Helen and take over downtown for an evening full of fun, laughs, local specials, and fabulous ’70s flair!
The fun kicks off all over downtown at 5:00 PM, with specials at participating local businesses for anyone dressed as Helen! The official Mrs. Roper walk begins at 5:30 PM, led by everyone’s favorite local Helen, and your event co-organizer, Amy! 🌼
Starting at Governor’s Square, located at the corner of Central Ave. and Broad Street, meet up with your fellow Helens and follow the bar crawl route throughout downtown Middletown, with plenty of fun surprises along the way!
NEW THIS YEAR: A Family-Friendly Kid Zone!
We’re bringing the fun to the whole family with a special kid-friendly, non-drinking area at Governor’s Square! Kids can enjoy a petting zoo, vendors, yard games, and plenty of activities while parents and adults join in on the Roper Romp fun.
And, of course, we want our littlest Helens to get in on the theme! Kids are encouraged to dress in their best ’70s-inspired outfits and join us for a retro evening of family fun.
Whether you’re coming dressed to the nines as Mrs. Roper, bringing the kids for some ’70s fun, or just looking to enjoy First Friday in downtown Middletown, there’s something for everyone!
