September Club Meeting: Penn Roosevelt State Park

The Central PA Mushroom Club will host two meetings in September. The first will take place at Penn Roosevelt State Park on Saturday, September 12, at 1 PM ET. We'll convene at the Group Camp Pavilion and kick things off with a beginner's educational talk on mushrooms from member John Traister. Afterward, we will go for a mushroom walk. Come early to visit with other members.
What to expect: Generally, there is a brief overview of the kinds of mushrooms that may be seasonally available. Other relevant or important club updates may also be covered. Depending on the number of people in attendance, we will divide into groups to forage for mushrooms. Typically, the walks last 1-2 hours. As people return, mushroom finds are placed and displayed on the tables at the pavilion we'll meet at, and then a time of identification occurs. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during this period.
New members are welcome and can sign up at the meeting. We'll have applications on hand. Dues are $20 annually and can be paid via cash or check. Send us a message if you have any questions!
