This September, Tango Alchemy returns to the intimate atmosphere of Bristol Hope Chapel for a very special night of dancing, live music and that unmistakable alchemy that happens when musicians and dancers share the same floor.
🎶 TANGO CALOR — LIVE
A rare and intimate bandoneon & guitar duo, bringing the heat, drama and soul of Argentine tango directly to the dance floor.
Tango Calor grew from the musical world of Bristol bandoneonist Mirek Salmon, whose career has taken him from tango clubs and festivals to WOMAD, BBC performances, Welsh National Opera and collaborations with major musicians. Their music moves between the great traditional tango repertoire and the expressive, contemporary spirit of tango nuevo and Piazzolla. (mireksalmon.co.uk)
Expect music with rhythm, atmosphere and space to dance — from the unmistakable pulse of the bandoneon to the intimate conversation between guitar and dancer.
🎹 SPECIAL GUEST — DYLAN KERRY
Joining Tango Calor for this special evening is Bristol pianist Dylan Kerry, an accomplished young musician with a passion for the sounds of the 1920s and ’30s — ragtime, stride and hot jazz. (pianistplayer.com)
His presence adds another colour to the evening: a meeting of vintage piano, Argentine tango and the spontaneous energy of a live milonga.
