About this Event
September Birding at
Join us for a fun morning of bird watching this September as we explore Charleston's newest County Park! We'll spend a couple hours walking the 1.5 mile shaded nature trail. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just bird curious, come join our Feminist Bird Club Charleston Chapter community!
We will plan to meet at Old Towne Creek County Park at 8:30 am, at the front of the Welcome Center. Options to carpool may be available - more info below!
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- We have binoculars for lend for our events! Be sure to complete the post-registraton poll to let us know if you'd like to borrow a pair.
- If you'd like to discuss options for carpooling, please reach out to FBC leadership on Instagram (@FBC_Charleston) or email ([email protected] )
- While we're hoping to beat some of the heat with a morning start, please come preapred with sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses) and water/electrolytes as we will be exposed to sun for a majority of our walk.
During this event we will plan to walk a total of approximately 1.5 - 2 miles over two hours. As always, this is our current plan but we are happy to adjust to best support our participants' abilities.
After the event, if anyone is interested, we'll plan to grab a bite to eat at and continue the fun!
Bring your binoculars, dress comfortably for the weather, and get ready to enjoy the wonderful world of birding with fellow bird enthusiasts. Can't wait to see you there!
By attending, all participants agree to follow our.
Additional Accessibility Notes:
We will plan to walk the 1.5 mile loop trail which has paved, dirt, and boardwalk surfaces to navigate. Restrooms are available for use within the park.
