Guest Speaker:

Jason K. Vaughn serves as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Coordinator at Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Georgia, where he is dedicated to developing student leaders, cultivating a positive school culture, and creating opportunities for students to excel academically, athletically, and personally. He also serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Brunswick High School Legacy Leadership Club, mentoring students to become servant leaders who positively impact their school and community.

A proud graduate of Brunswick High School, Jason began his higher education journey at Fort Valley State University before earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Sociology from Georgia Southern University. He later earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix, an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Walden University, and a Professional Tier I Educational Leadership Certification from Valdosta State University.

Jason is the founder of Coaching A.A. History, an educational initiative dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing African American history through dynamic presentations, storytelling, and immersive learning experiences. Throughout his career, he has led more than 100 guided heritage tours highlighting Gullah Geechee culture and African American history, helping visitors, students, and community members develop a deeper appreciation for the people, places, and events that have shaped Georgia’s coastal heritage.

Known for his energetic and engaging speaking style, Jason has inspired audiences ranging from students and educators to churches, civic organizations, businesses, and community groups throughout Georgia. His presentations blend historical insight, leadership principles, and personal experiences to challenge audiences to think critically, embrace service, and recognize the power of education to transform lives and communities.

Beyond the classroom, Jason is an active member of A Better Glynn, a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening the community through service, leadership development, and civic engagement. Whether mentoring young leaders, serving his community, or preserving local history, Jason believes that true leadership is measured not by titles, but by the positive impact we leave on others.

Jason married his wife, Candace Vaughn, in 2007 and will be celebrating 20 years of marriage next year. An educator herself, Candace shares Jason’s passion for investing in the next generation. Together they are the proud parents of their daughter, Seren, who is pursuing a degree in education at Valdosta State University, continuing the family’s commitment to education and service.

Whether delivering a keynote address, leading a historical tour, or facilitating a leadership workshop, Jason leaves audiences with practical tools, renewed inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the people and stories that have shaped our communities.

Jason believes history is more than a record of the past—it is a roadmap for leadership, resilience, and building stronger communities for future generations. His personal mission is simple: to educate, inspire, and empower others to lead with knowledge, purpose, and service.
