About this Event
The Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center will host its annual September 11th Remembrance event on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial, located at 1308 Fond du Lac Avenue in Kewaskum, Wisconsin. The event is free and open to the public, and community members, students, and families are encouraged to attend to honor the victims, survivors, and heroes of September 11, 2001.
This year's program will feature two speakers with personal connections to the events of that day:
Julie Henneberry, a Wisconsin resident and board member of the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial, is the daughter of FDNY Lieutenant Peter Louis Freund, who died in the North Tower's collapse. She will share her story publicly for the first time.
Paul J. Conway, a retired assistant chief of the Milwaukee Fire Department and founder of Conway Shield, will offer his insights and leadership expertise, drawing on over 30 years of experience in the American fire service. He will discuss the ongoing impact of 9/11, the journey of grief, and how to lead with honor, courage, and commitment.
The Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center is managed by Kewaskum Remembers 9/11, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to remembrance and education for future generations. The memorial honors the innocent victims killed on September 11, 2001, and gives special recognition to those with ties to Wisconsin.
