We kick off the new season with a preview of the year ahead, introduction to this year's Challenge Plant, and in-person presentation by Dr. Brandon Corder about research into Wisconsin's native orchids. Schedule is Approximate as Follows:

Our speaker will be Dr. Brandon Corder, a newly minted Ph.D. orchidologist from the Department of Botany at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who will present a talk on "The Secret Lives of Wisconsin's Native Orchids." Brandon will present an overview of his research into the biology of orchids and their fungal partners from across Wisconsin and the Great Lakes Region. He is well known to people who follow him on iNaturalist and Instagram where he shares his passion for botany to a global audience. Brandon also has been invited to present his research finding to numerous orchid clubs in the USA and Canada. We are very fortunate to have him right here in the Madison community!
