About this Event

How do we support someone when their recovery goals, choices, or beliefs conflict with our own? Peer support asks us to recognize our personal biases and separate our own perspectives from the support we provide to others.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will work through real-world scenarios, practice recognizing personal reactions, and explore how to remain supportive when they don't align with someone's decisions. Together, we'll focus on practical ways to set aside our assumptions, manage internal responses, and honor each person's right to define their own recovery.

What You'll Explore

  • Recognizing personal biases, beliefs, and assumptions.
  • Navigating situations where personal values conflict with someone's recovery goals.
  • Practicing ways to separate personal reactions from professional support.

Who Should Attend?

New and emerging peer support professionals, individuals exploring the field, and experienced peers looking to strengthen their practice and get CEU's.

Workshop Format: In-person, interactive workshop | 90 minutes
