About this Event
We are thrilled to announce the 3rd annual Sensory Friendly Concert presented by Elevate Music Therapy! This years event will feature a resource fair in addition to a performance by local artist Graham Good and the Painters.
About the artist
Graham Good is hailed as the Messiah of Modern Rock due to his infectious energy and classic song writing. Specializing in Feel-Good//Funk-Folk-Rock, this group touches on a plethora of genres that help make them an easy band for any new fan to instantly connect with. The band has played iconic Denver venues such as Red Rocks, The Ogden, The Gothic, and The Bluebird opening up for acts such as Caamp, Andy Frasco, Satsang, and Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers. The Painters are a band of trained musicians who aim to pull the heartstrings of their audiences to step up and live life fully. Their mission is to spread hope and joy through the power of music.
What is a Sensory Friendly Concert?
The Kennedy Center defines sensory friendly performances as being "designed to create performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families with children with autism or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities."
In practical terms, that means the concert volume is lower and lighting isn't too dark or too bright. Attendees and their families can move around, dance, and sing along in a fun, accepting environment.
Elements of our Sensory Friendly Concert
- Lowered volume levels
- Adjusted lighting
- Calm, flexible space outside of the performance room
- Fidget sensory items and alternative seating options are provided
- Wider space between rows or aisles
