We're delighted to announce open auditions for Off The Leash Theatre's 2027 production of Kate Hamill's acclaimed adaptation of Sense & Sensibility.
We're looking for a talented company of performers to bring this witty, fast-paced and heartfelt retelling of Jane Austen's beloved classic to life. Whether you're an experienced actor or looking for your next exciting challenge, we'd love to see you.
This promises to be another ambitious Off The Leash Theatre production, full of creativity, energy and our signature ensemble style.
Roles available include:
Margaret Dashwood (Playing age 12–16) – The spirited, imaginative youngest Dashwood sister.
Mrs Dashwood (Playing age 50–65) – A loving and passionate mother determined to protect her family.
John Dashwood (Playing age 30–50) – Well-meaning but easily persuaded, offering plenty of comic moments.
Sir John Middleton (Playing age 35–60) – Generous, enthusiastic and larger than life, Sir John is the ultimate host whose boundless energy and good intentions often create wonderfully comic situations.
Mrs Ferrars (Playing age 55–75) – The formidable matriarch who demands complete obedience.
Lucy Steele (Playing age 18–35) – Charming, ambitious and quietly manipulative.
Anne Steele (Playing age 18–35) – Delightfully outspoken with impeccable comic timing.
Lady Middleton(Playing age 25–40) – Elegant, refined and devoted to social etiquette.
The Gossips -Fast-paced, highly physical ensemble roles. The Gossips become the voice of society, spreading rumours, commenting on events and helping propel the story forward. These performers require comic timing and ensemble skills.
Playing ages are a guide only. Off The Leash Theatre welcomes performers of all ages and backgrounds, and we encourage anyone interested in a role to audition. We are casting the production based on the best fit for our creative vision.
