About this Event
Twice a year, the Seniors’ Agenda Network Summit brings together up to 150 professionals, aging advocates, and elected officials to actively engage in meaningful learning to strengthen our community for older adults. The February Summit will educate us on older adult behavioral health, what we can do to improve the mental health and what’s new in the community.
At the summit, Dr. Carla Perissinotto, will speak on social connection across the lifespan. Dr. Perissinotto is a Professor in the Division of Geriatrics at UC San Francisco and is a Home-Based Primary Care and Palliative Medicine Physician with Get Aging and Sabio Health, which she also founded. Her research and advocacy has focused on integration of loneliness assessments in health care, and evaluation and implementation of community-based programs focused on ameliorating loneliness and isolation in adults. She is a renowned for her expertise on social isolation and loneliness in older adults.
Additionally, Santa Clara County’s Behavioral Health Services Department will share the myths and realities of the Community Assistance, Recovery and Empowerment (CARE) Court, which launched in Santa Clara County on December 1, 2024. CARE Court is a new statewide framework designed to help individuals with mental health and substance use disorders access the support and care they need across.
