Senior Swimming Carnival: Friday 29th November – 9:00AM – 1:45PM.
- Students will walk over to the pool with their class after the roll is marked.
- Students will remain in house areas during the day and will be called for their events as required. It is the student’s responsibility for ensuring they are in the correct place and do not miss their events. If students do not arrive when their event is called, we will assume that they are not swimming and will not be chasing them.
- While at the pool students will have the opportunity to participate in 3 events (backstroke, breastroke and freestyle). Swimmers will be supported in the water by swimming teachers/school staff and encouraged to use flotation devices.
- Teachers will observe students' ability in class lessons and those swimmers that can safely and competently swim 50m (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and/or freestyle) within the qualifying time (to be posted on Facebook) and with correct technique, will be given the opportunity to compete for ribbons. These swimmers will be selected by the teacher and parents will be notified prior to the event.
- Please note that 8-year-old and 9-year-olds will be competing together.
- Senior students will be remaining at the pool until the end of the carnival. Students will need to pack food for the day that does not require refrigeration.
