What’s happening on the day
Learn how to teach music confidently in a neurodiverse classroom — and how music can be used to support communication, concentration, engagement and access to the wider curriculum.
This informal CPD session is led by Susan Sinclair, Charanga Associate Trainer and Content Creator, and the creator of some of Charanga’s most widely used classroom songs worldwide, including Plastic Song, Be Safe Online and It’s OK (Please Just Say).
Susan is a qualified teacher and inclusive classroom specialist, with extensive experience supporting neurodiverse learners and helping teachers make music lessons work for every child. She currently practises as a music consultant at Bridgewater Primary School through Music Partnership North, bringing real, current classroom experience to the session.
What you’ll take away
Practical strategies for teaching music in neurodiverse classrooms
Clear, adaptable ways to use Charanga — with time to ask questions about lessons, structure and differentiation
How music can support:
English and communication
focus and concentration
engagement and regulation
access to the wider curriculum
Simple approaches for lessons where pupils may feel dysregulated or overwhelmed, helping the whole class thrive
All strategies are classroom-ready and usable straight away.
Open Morning at Musicwonders
This session also forms part of an open morning — a relaxed chance to:
Look around Musicwonders
Learn about our work as a registered Alternative Provision
Network with other schools and share best practice
We’ll start with gorgeous cake and a proper cuppa ☕🍰
(And yes… there will be more cake.)
