All are welcome! Come join us in this ceremony of classical devotional Turkish music and whirling prayer, based on a traditional practice that was initially inspired several hundred years ago.
Friends from the Mevlevi Order of America, together with friends from the Society for Turkish Classical Music, come together for this Sema ceremony honoring the Sheb-i Arus or "wedding night" (death anniversary) of Sufi mystical poet, Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, demonstrating through a lifetime of words and actions how Peace is possible on a Path of Love. The Sema ceremony is layered with rich symbolic representation of the human being's spiritual journey.

2:30pm Doors open for general seating. 3pm Ceremony begins in silence and continues for about an 75-90 minutes.
Note that seating is intimately close to the whirling semazen and fellow attendees. If you are having symptoms of illness, please do not attend for your safety and others. Your ticket will be refunded per Brownpapertickets policy. Come again next time!
