Supporting educational establishments across Sefton to embed sustainability through shared learning, practical guidance and local support.
About this Event

The Sefton Sustainability Summit for Education will bring together sustainability leads from educational establishments across the borough for a half-day session focused on climate action and sustainability, linked to DfE requirements.

We recognise that educational establishments are under significant pressure. With day-to-day demands and competing priorities, this work can often feel like an additional responsibility rather than something that fits naturally into the way your setting operates.

This session is designed to make climate and sustainability work feel more straightforward and manageable.

Led by Sefton Council, the event will support educational establishments to:

• understand climate action and DfE requirements
• explore what good practice looks like in real settings
• identify practical steps to get started or build on existing work
• access the support, guidance and resources available

During the session, we will share examples from across Sefton, highlight common challenges, and explore approaches that are working in practice. Whether you are at an early stage or have been making progress in this area for some time, the focus will remain practical, realistic and relevant.

There will also be time to connect with others in a similar role. Sustainability leads often take this on alongside other responsibilities, so this is an opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from peers across the borough.

We will also showcase the School Eco Savers offer, delivered by Sefton Council, including the resources, guidance and practical support available to help your setting take the next steps.

By the end of the session, you should leave with a clearer sense of direction, practical ideas to take away, and a stronger understanding of the support available.
