SeeSaw Creative Writing Salon
‘Writing The Things We're Not Meant To Speak About’
Duration: 1.5 hours
When: Friday 17th July
Time: 2 – 3:30pm
Sex. Death. Money. Politics. Desire.
These are some of the topics we’ve been told not to speak about. If we’re polite that is. If we want to fit in that is.
But what about those issues that we don’t get to speak of? Such as ageing, rage, envy, desire, the hungers that lurk in the pit of our bellies?
And what about the parts of ourselves deemed ‘not beautiful’, wrong, boring, ugly, or disapproved of?
The selfish part that is all Verruca Salt inside. The cruel, mean girl, bitch! The judgemental diva serving looks. The ambitious streaked badass. The lonely little child that curls up and just wants to be seen. The fame hungry monster. And oh, so many more!
Let’s welcome the feral freaks that lurk beneath the surface through writing.
Over the course of this workshop, we will explore some part of who we are that we keep hidden or censor. We will take a look at unshaming these places, and mine them for treasures. And we will take these aspects and turn them into gold, not just for our writing, but potentially for our life too.
No part of ourselves is unwelcome to join.
No writing experience needed. Simply curiosity, playfulness and the willingness to greet the unhinged within!
Let’s create, have fun, and discover the power of writing the things we’re not meant to speak about!
