About this Event
Sustainable Futures Conference 2026 (SEERIH working in partnership with URENCO)
We invite teachers to Manchester on 12th November for our full-day conference, which will focus on increasing primary science teacher confidence and understanding in:
- Developing pupils’ critical thinking around sustainability
- The importance of connecting science education and sustainability education in primary schools
- Real-world research and innovation supporting the enhancement of environmental sustainability locally, regionally and globally
This is an exciting opportunity to hear from a bespoke lineup of international speakers and sector professionals. The morning will comprise a series of scientific talks discussing sustainability in our world. The afternoon will feature short, inspiring ‘lightning talks’ focused on sustainability in the curriculum.
Additionally, there will be a Marketplace, where teachers can discover new resources, events, campaigns and initiatives.
In line with the Department for Education’s (DfE) sustainability and climate change strategy to have the world’s leading education sector in sustainability and climate change by 2030, this conference is well suited to school Sustainability Leads and progressing schools’ Climate Action Plans.
