Fantagraphics Books celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of exhibitions and events throughout the summer, beginning with Seeing Nancy: A Tribute to Ernie Bushmiller's Iconic Cartoon Character. This colorful art show includes significant works by a diverse array of accomplished artists. Among the highlights are collaborative paintings by late Northwest literary legend Tom Robbins and foundational glass artist Ginny Ruffner; visual artists Kelly Lyles and Jeremy Eaton; contemporary comix artists Noah Van Sciver and Mark Newgarden; current Nancy cartoonist Caroline Cash, as well as original creator Ernie Bushmiller.
The opening on Saturday, June 13th includes the debut of the Nancy For All Seasons collection, free Nancy novelties, complementary refreshments, and music by No 3 featuring members of the Fastbacks and Mudhoney.
