Seedy Sunday 2026 – Brighton's biggest community gardening event! Seedy Sunday is back for its 23rd year, bringing together seasoned gardeners, beginners, and everyone in between for the UK’s largest community seed swap event!
At the heart of the event is our Seed Swap Table, where you can exchange seeds, discover unique heirloom varieties, and learn from local growing experts. There will also be inspiring talks and workshops, stalls with plants, gardening tools, and delicious food, the chance to connect with like-minded green fingered folkd, and activities for kids and the whole family.
Why swap seeds?
Seed swaps promote biodiversity, preserve heritage varieties, and create stronger, more resilient gardens. Plants that are grown in local soils produce seeds that are adapted to local soils - - so it makes a lot of sense to swap local seeds. But it’s also a fun, budget-friendly way to kickstart your gardening year while learning more about sustainable gardening practices and the wonder of nature! 🌻
Seedy Sunday is open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting out on your gardening journey. It’s an event by and for people who understand the beauty, excitement, and importance of growing - and we believe that’s something everyone can partake in!

There will be more information online as speakers, stalls and programme timings are confirmed. We’re also looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event and at our friendly seed packing events beforehand.
