Seeds of Action at the Climate Action Museum

Join us for a family-friendly Easter gathering where kids will learn about composting and plant seedlings while parents connect and build community with fellow Chicagoans.

Easter weekend often comes with baskets full of plastic toys and mountains of sugar. Seeds of Action offers a different kind of celebration — one rooted in curiosity, nature, and connection.

Spring is a season of renewal, and planting something in the soil is one of the simplest ways to experience that spirit. We’ll of course still have eggs to discover and a few bunny surprises, but the focus is on planting something real, learning how compost turns scraps into soil, and spending time together in a space full of ideas and inspiration for a better future.

The Climate Action Museum is a free museum with the mission of activating a tipping point on climate mitigation in the Chicago region through education, stimulating critical thought, and inspiring and facilitating action.

This plannting is best suited for children ages 3–8 years old, but all are welcome to join and participate.

We know what it's like to commute with kids, so please drop in when you can, just let us know if you can't make it as early as possible as space is limited. Guests are welcome to explore the museum before or after the program.

This is a pay-what-you-can event, with contributions collected at the gathering to support the Climate Action Museum and future community programming.
