Seeds For Sounds hosts soundbaths via electronic musical instruments paired with discussions about sound, silence, music & noise.
Each session addresses a specific topic, guided by a card set with methods and questions to promote and encourage creative ideas.
Seeds For Sounds was created by Lovesure to serve as a place where musicians, music producers, acousticians, music technologists and sound designers meet music collectors, music lovers and audiophiles. The best of both worlds.
--------
Modes of Listening is the 2nd out of 16 sessions, in which the main focus is on active and passive listening, and how the modes of listening have changed our lives and behaviors.
The session also explores the sound as a separate object and as a visualized sound, and also the many ways traditional and modern music audition are interconnected.
Saturday, 18:00-21:00
Lossless Hi-Fi Listening Room, Str. Sfântul Ștefan 21
15 seats available.

FURTHER INFO ON THE SOUND INSTALLATION
I. Seeds For Sounds has two music outputs by Lovesure:
a. the music created and performed at the beginning of each session, that's 16 songs in total;
b. the song prepared for the collaborative sound installation;
II. The song for the installation has a fairly simple foundation, but the magic is in the way you perform it. 16 sound sources combined with 16 instrument types.
Below you have the list of the sessions, the sound source and its equivalent in instrument type:
SESSION TOPICS - THE SOUND SOURCE - THE INSTRUMENT
1. HI-FI & LO-FI SOUNDSCAPES
Field: sounds are unaltered, recorded and used as they are;
2. MODES OF LISTENING
Silence: recording silence or just using silence;
3. MODES OF COMPOSING
Noise: not noise music, just using white noise and an EQ to create tones;
4. MUSIC MYTHS & CLICHES

15. BETWEEN THE ART & THE ARTIST
Generative mechanical: using sounds recorded from generative mechanical sounds: a steel ball falling through steel nails acting as tines and other methods;
16. BETWEEN CORRUPT FAME & CORE FANBASE
Generative digital: obviously not AI, yuck. sounds from generative digital sounds, and Ableton has so many tools for this.

The 16 instrument types are: Drums, percussion, basses, pulses, pianos, guitars, mallets, organs, winds, strings, pads, leads, tones, textures, fx and vocals. So each instruments gets a sound source.

III. The sound installation is a large sequencer that you perform by playing with the 16x16 elements in any combination you want. You can record that performance and keep that piece of music with you.

IV. The song is in the key of B minor with the tempo of 120 BPM. Each instrument sample is 8 bars long in 4/4 time signature, with a section A and a section B.

V. The guides for the collaboration, should you choose to join Lovesure:
1. you are assigned to a random sample and that's the sample that plays in the sound installation;
2. you are assigned to a random sample and you can edit, modify, or alter it as you please, as long as it stays in the same key, BPM and the same chord progression order;
3. you create an instrument sample following the same guidelines;
4. you are assigned to a random sample and you give clear instructions on how to alter and modify the sample, as long as it stays in the same key, BPM and the same chord progression order;
