Seed Sourcing for Students and Young Professionals

Join us for hands-on training designed for individuals interested in learning how to sort and process seeds in the Puget Sound region. This training is designed for students and young professionals interested in habitat restoration or natural resources work. This day-long introductory training will equip you with essential knowledge and practical skills to optimize your seed-sourcing practices.

Hosted by the Puget Sound Seed Partnership, the training will combine theoretical and hands-on knowledge to enable you to source seeds, allowing for more genetically diverse and locally sourced seed collecting. This is the one of three seed trainings we are offering in September; if you are an interested older adult or a seed professional, please check out our other seed trainings.

Trainers from the Institue for Applied Ecology will share their extensive expertise in seed sourcing and identification, collection techniques, and seed processing and storage.

Please note: to make the training accessible to all, we will initially limit the number of people who can sign up from a single organization. If more than three people register from an organization, we will move additional registrants to the waitlist. We are actively monitoring the waitlist and will update waitlist participants by August 14th, so please do sign up even if the event is currently at capacity.
