December's social trail will be a very exciting one 😃 As well as being very close to Christmas (fancy dress/Christmas wear optional 😉), this will be submitted as a group Fastest Known Time (FKT) for this route 🥳 - There are currently zero group submissions; which means we can run it as slow as we like and still get our names logged on the FKT 🤗You can also join the Strava event via the South East England - Vegan Runners UK page (if the link does not work for you, you may need to request to join) - https://www.strava.com/clubs/1035776/group_events/3426266843512634442 💚🖤
Meeting place is Rykas Boxhill, Old London Rd, Dorking RH5 6BY ///stiff.tennis.commented, with plenty of parking (I believe it is free 🤞). The run will start just after 09:00am so, please aim to arrive just before. There are public toilets available, just behind Rykas cafe. I am hopeful that we can get a coffee and something to eat from Rykas afterwards.
We will stick together, as this is a group FKT submission, but it is always a good idea to save the route to your watch or phone.
The group will progress at a pace that accommodates everyone; no one will be left behind as we will aim to run together 🤝. Some meet ups may be longer and/or harder than others, but I for one fully intend to walk up most of the hills 😅.
Running on trails is a little different to running on roads and paths: As a rough guide; you should feel comfortable running about 20% further than these trail distances on road. Trail shoes are highly recommended, as is bringing hydration and fuel .. and fresh clothes and shoes to change into for afterwards 😉.
