SEE Mosaic Meeting VII, “Reconsidering Protection of
Mosaic Heritage in the Face of Climate Challenges – Conservation, Preservation and
Restoration”, will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, within the
framework of the regional project SEE Mosaic: Developing a Network of Mosaic Conservation Professionals and Promoting Mosaic Heritage in SE Europe.
The meeting is organised by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia and the National Museum of Serbia, with the support of the CEI - Central European Initiative Cooperation Fund.
It is planned as a four-day event and will include paper presentations, a poster exhibition, video presentations and a study tour.
The SEE Mosaics Meeting VII will address the protection of mosaics in the context of climate change. It will focus on climate-related risks, damage assessment, and practical, sustainable conservation and restoration methods for mosaics ranging from Roman-period examples to later and contemporary works, both in situ and in museum collections. The meeting invites case studies, pilot interventions, and ethical reflections, while promoting cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange among heritage professionals.
